David O. Russell is about to direct the upcoming Linda Ronstadt biopic, starring Selena Gomez, Selection has confirmed.

The music biopic is at present in pre-production, with producers together with James Keach, who produced the 2019 documentary “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice,” and Ronstadt’s supervisor, John Boylan.

Gomez teased her involvement within the biopic earlier this week by posting an image of Ronstadt’s 2013 memoir “Easy Desires” on her Instagram story. No different casting has been introduced.

Ronstadt is a rustic, rock ‘n’ roll and Latin music legend identified for her Seventies albums “Coronary heart Like a Wheel” and “Easy Desires.” All through her profession she has launched 29 studio albums, received 11 Grammys, and was honored by each the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
