M. Emmet Walsh, a veteran character actor who appeared in movies like “Blade Runner,” “Blood Easy” and “Knives Out” and performed Dermot Mulroney’s dad in “My Greatest Pal’s Wedding ceremony,” has died.
His supervisor Sandy Joseph confirmed that he died Tuesday in Vermont. He was 88.
In Ridley Scott’s 1982 “Blade Runner,” Walsh was Harrison Ford’s LAPD boss. His different roles included the corrupt sheriff within the 1986 horror movie “Critters” and a small position as a safety guard in “Knives Out.”
Raised in Swanton, Vermont, Walsh made his debut in films in “Alice’s Restaurant” in 1969.
