“The Franchise” has been canceled after one season at HBO.

The satirical comedy sequence in regards to the making of a superhero film was created by Jon Brown (“Succession,” “Veep”) and government produced by Sam Mendes (“1917,” “Skyfall”) and Armando Iannucci (“Veep”).

The sequence starred Himesh Patel as a frazzled first assistant director on a big-budget film that may be a minor installment in a bigger superhero franchise. Aya Money, Jessica Hynes, Billy Magnussen, Lolly Adefope, Darren Goldstein and Isaac Powell rounded out the ensemble, and Richard E. Grant and Daniel Brühl had been recurring forged members.

“We’re so grateful to have had the chance to work with the tremendously gifted group behind ‘The Franchise,’ particularly Sam Mendes, Jon Brown, Armando Iannucci, and this hilarious ensemble of actors,” an HBO spokesperson stated in a press release to Selection. “Whereas we gained’t be transferring ahead with one other season, we look ahead to collaborating with all of them sooner or later.”
